Markus Schneider and his team have made a name for themselves in recent years with creations such as "Holy Moly" and "Tohuwabohu". The Palatinate winery is one of the most innovative in Germany. It produces around 800,000 bottles per year.

The challenge

1,800 barriques stored on racks need to be cleaned and prepared for the next filling in a reasonable amount of time. With conventional manual barrel cleaning, the barrels have to be lifted from the rack, which is very time-consuming and physically demanding.

Solution

The BRM barrel cleaner makes it possible to clean the barrels quickly and efficiently without having to lift them off the rack. High-pressure cleaning and rotation of the spray head are generated by a standard high-pressure cleaner; the BRM drum cleaner itself runs entirely without electricity. Nozzles with a fan jet clean the inside of the drum gently yet effectively. The dirty water runs off via the bunghole. By switching to the BRM barrel cleaner, the working speed of barrel cleaning has increased almost tenfold.
